Apaches Take Final Game Against Cowley

TYLER, Texas — Tyler Junior College avoided a series sweep with a 9-0 win over Cowley County Community College on Friday at Mike Carter Field.

David Lillis led the Apaches at the plate, going 3 for 5 with three RBIs and a stolen base. Micah Roberts finished 3 for 5 with three doubles and one RBI. Sawyer Dunagan scored three runs, walked three times and doubled. Cal Fingleson added two hits, and Chase Fuentes drove in a run.

Trevor Breaux started on the mound for TJC and allowed two hits over 4 2/3 scoreless innings with six strikeouts and one walk. Nolan Hable (1-0) earned the win in relief, tossing 1 1/3 innings without allowing a hit. Diego Estrada recorded the save, pitching the final three innings and striking out four.

Cowley starter Keegan Robertson (0-1) took the loss, allowing three runs, two earned over two innings. The Tigers issued eight walks and committed two errors.
