#3 Apache women win over #7 Daytona State

The #3 Tyler Junior College Women defeated #7 Daytona State College on Saturday morning in Millbrook, Alabama.  The win was the second of the weekend at the 17 Springs complex over a NJCAA top ranked opponent.  Tyler defeated #2 Eastern Florida on Thursday in Millbrook 2-1.  They would win by the same score over the Falcons on this day.  Daytona led at halftime 1-0 on a goal by Shaneil Buckley (Madison Johnson) at 35:51.  But the Apaches would come back in the second period with goals by Miki Hayashi on a penalty kick at 71:58 and an unassisted goal by Sille Bach at 82:27.  The loss was the second of the weekend for Daytona State as they lost on Thursday to Jones County(MS) 3-2.  The Falcons are now 3-2 on the seaaon.  The Apaches win moves their overall record to 7-1/2-0 in conference.  Tyler returns to Pat Hartley Field on Tuesday to continue Region 14 play against the Angelina Roadrunners at 5:00 pm on the campus of Tyler Junior College.
