The Apache Women's soccer team opened their 2024 season at home with a win over Ranger College on Thursday night 3-1. Jada Reyes, a freshman forward from Wofforth, Texas would score the first goal of the season at 15:15. She was assisted by Sona Dabelstein, a first year forward from Bremerhaven, Germany. The Rangers would tie it up at 1-1 at the 31:32 mark. The Apaches Gabrielle Thompson would break the tie at the 63:00 mark, assisted by freshman Jada Reyes, from Wofforth, Texas. A sophomore from Whitehouse, Texas, Thompson would find the net again at the 88:15 mark, giving Tyler the 3-1 win. Anna Powell, a freshman from Fremantle, Australia got the assist on Thompson's second goal. The win gives the Apaches a record of 1-0 and the Rangers drop to 0-1. Ranger travels to Arlington Baptist next on Tuesday and the Apaches will stay at home, playing Miami-Dade(FL) on Saturday at 11:00 am on the campus of Tyler Junior College. The Lady Sharks defeated NJCAA Region 14 foe, Angelina in an earlier match, 5-3 at Pat Hartley Field.
