MOUNT PLEASANT, Texas – The Tyler Junior College men's soccer team kept its unbeaten streak alive with a dominant 8–1 victory over Northeast Texas Community College on Friday, Oct. 3.
The Apaches (8-0-1 overall, 8-0-1 conference) exploded for four goals in each half, overwhelming the Eagles from start to finish.
Sophomore Elias Taj continued his standout season with two first-half goals, including the opener in the 10th minute off a setup from Marc Perkuhn. Perkuhn had a huge afternoon as well, assisting on four of TJC's eight goals.
Matias Bauza, Toby Snook, Kshaine Gordon, Knox Hicks, and Lasse Ornberg each found the back of the net, with Gordon scoring twice in a two-minute span early in the second half. Hicks contributed a goal and two assists to the offensive surge.
TJC's defense stayed strong, holding Northeast Texas to just one goal — a 55th-minute strike from Cesar Villa — while controlling possession and outshooting the Eagles 33–9.
Goalkeeper Joe Pollard earned the win in net as the Apaches notched their eighth victory of the season.
