#2 Apache men score first win over Scorpions

The Tyler Junior College men's soccer team, ranked #2 in the NJCAA pre-season poll got their first win of the 2024 season, 3-0 over a scrappy Texas Southmost College team on Saturday at Hartley Field in Tyler.  After posting back to back 0-0, draw contests to open the campaign, Tyler got its first goal of the season at 13:00 by sophomore forward from Werl, Germany, Carlo Romberg, assisted by Yart Van Lieshout.  Scoring continued three minutes later by freshman defender from Askov, Denmark, Oscar Bech, with Lucas Cook getting his first of two assists on the day. Final goal of the day was netted by Wilson Bibiano, a sophomore forward from Easton, Pennsylvania, at minute 70:00.  The win by the Apaches moves their record to 1-0-2 on the season.  Texas Southmost drops to 0-2.  Next up for the Apache men is another home match against Region 14 opponent, Jacksonville College on Friday at 7:00 pm at Harley Field on the campus of Tyler Junior College.
