Football Home Opener Saturday Against No.12 Georgia Military College

TYLER, Texas – Tyler Junior College's football team will host No.12 Georgia Military College (1-1) at Christus TMF Rose Stadium 1 p.m. this Saturday in the first home game of the team's 2024 campaign.

TJC is coming off a late-night, 20-17 loss to No.15 Dodge City Community College (1-0) in which they experienced multiple lighting delays forcing the game to end after one o'clock in the morning.

Georgia Military College is coming off an overtime loss to the defending back-to-back national champions No.1 Iowa Western Community College (1-0). GMC had a chance to win at the end of the game when they chose to go for a win or go home two-point conversion, but the attempt was unsuccessful, and the Bulldogs dropped their home opener 42-41. The Bulldogs had 489 yards of total offense in their first game of the season, including 314 yards rushing, and look to put TJC's defense to the test as the Apaches only allowed 191 yards of total offense in their opener.

The Apaches forced three turnovers including two interceptions and a fumble recovery against Dodge City. TJC's star-studded defense will look to do some of the same this Saturday as they attempt to not only pick up their first win of the season but prove that they belong in the National Junior College Athletic Association rankings as their facing their now second top 15 opponent.
