Apache Volleyball Downs Navarro
TYLER, Texas – Apaches Natalia Roszewska erupted for 20 kills as the Tyler Junior College Volleyball team defeated Navarro College 3-1 on Wednesday, Sept. 24.
The Apaches improved to 6-10 on the year, and 3-3 in conference play. Navarro fell to 8-11 on the year, and 2-4 in conference play.
Sophomore outside hitter Roszewska powered the attack with a match-high 20 kills, hitting .341, and adding 12 digs to notch a double-double. TJC Setter Lauren Pyle directed the offense with 42 assists and 11 digs, while also contributing two block assists.
The Apaches saw balanced scoring across the lineup. Calee Carter added 10 kills, while Jourdyn Morris and Maranatha Silafau combined for 13 kills and four blocks. Dani Brey provided a spark with two kills, 25 digs, and a team-high five service aces.
As a team, TJC finished with 52 kills on .262 hitting efficiency to go along with eight service aces. The Apaches held Navarro to a .176 hitting percentage across the four sets.
Navarro was led by Karina Barzanova, who recorded 17 kills and five aces.
