Apaches Play to 2-2 Draw with Cardinals

TYLER, Texas – The Tyler Junior College Women's Soccer team played to a 2-2 draw with Trinity Valley Community College on Friday, Sept. 19. 

The Apaches moved to 2-2-4 on the season, and 1-2-3 in conference play. Trinity Valley moves to 3-1-4 on the season, and 2-0-4 in conference play. 

TJC struck first with Brianna Garcia delivering a strike in the 26th minute, giving the Apaches their first goal in three matches. 

Four minutes later Apaches Cynthia Adamu found the back of the net giving the tribe a commanding 2-0 lead late in the first half. 

The Cardinals offense pulled back within one right before the half with a goal from Elena Sugimoto. 

The Cardinals answered just before halftime with a goal from Elena Sugimoto to cut the lead to one.

In the second half, the Apaches weren't able to replicate their offensive success, and Trinity Valley's Hadlee Farrow scored in the 58th minute to even the match.

Next up, TJC begins a five-game road stretch on Tuesday, Sept. 23, at Jacksonville College. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m.
