BRENHAM, Texas – A late goal from The Tyler Junior College Women's Soccer team gave the Apaches just enough to pull even with Blinn College in a 1-1 tie on Thursday, August 28.
The Apaches moved to 1-0-2 on the season, and 0-0-1 in region play.
The Apaches filled up the box score putting 25 of 28 shots on target while holding the Buccaneers to just three total attempts. The Buccaneers opportunity came early, when Choley Mejia delivered a pass through the Apache center backs and into the foot of Sophomore Marguerite Funk who found the back of the net.
The Apaches controlled possession for most of the match, but were unable to convert until Sophomore Gabby Saboia deflected a shot off the hands of Buccaneers Goalkeeper Haidlyn Hawkins and into the right corner in the 84th minute.
