TJC Claims Sweep Over Angelina (Part 2)

Angelina scored the opening bucket for its only lead of the game, and then TJC scored the next 10.

Malone, who finished with four 3-pointers, had all but one trey in that opening 15-2 run. Krystal Van Hook added to the run with two buckets in the paint for her only points of the game.

The Lady Runners trailed by 14 before trimming the deficit to nine, only to watch TJC score 10 unanswered to go up 33-14.

The Apache Ladies ended the first half by scoring 11 straight to make it 47-20, thanks to 58 percent shooting from the field. However, TJC shot just 36 percent in the second half and had trouble keeping its foot on the gas.

Angelina actually cut the deficit to 12 with 2:51 remaining, and had opportunities to get closer. The Apache Ladies continued to win the battle of the boards, thanks to Keshia Warren grabbing 12 rebounds and the 6-6 April Murphy contributing 11 - 10 in the first half.
