KILGORE, Texas – The Tyler Junior College Apaches split a doubleheader with Kilgore College on March 28, winning game one 11-0 before falling 11-7 in game two.
The Apaches moved to 16-18 on the year, and 2-4 in Conference play.
In the opener, TJC scored 11 runs on 12 hits in a five-inning run-rule victory. The Apaches put up eight runs in the second inning and added runs in the third and fifth.
Brooklyn Foster went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Bethany Fan recorded three RBIs, while Ileana Hernandez added two hits and an RBI. Chloe Payne also finished with two hits.
Carlie Hrncir pitched a complete-game shutout, allowing two hits over five innings with three strikeouts and two walks.
In game two, TJC scored seven runs on eight hits. The Apaches plated two runs in the first inning and added runs in the fourth, sixth, and seventh.
Bethany Fan went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two doubles. Mallory Kniffen scored twice and drove in a run, while Ileana Hernandez, Chloe Payne, Ky-Li Alonzo, and Lilli St. Germain each recorded an RBI.
Kilgore scored six runs in the second inning and finished with 11 runs on 12 hits.
Jaycee Bullard started in the circle, with Delanie Bass throwing five innings in relief.
