Apaches Take Second Win in Two Weeks at Texarkana Invitational
TEXARKANA, Texas -- The Tyler Junior College men's and women's golf teams put together a dominant showing at the Texarkana Invitational, with both squads capturing team titles while Noah Sandlin and Abigail McWilliams finishing first overall.
The TJC men finished atop the leaderboard at +67, led by Sandlin's steady improvement across three rounds. After opening with a 79 (+7), he shaved strokes each day with a 76 (+4) in Round 2 before delivering a 73 (+1) in the final round to secure the individual title at 228 (+12). His final round surge, highlighted by a front-nine 35 (-1), proved to be the difference.
On the women's side, TJC claimed the team title at +94, powered by McWilliams' consistent play over two rounds. She opened the tournament with an 80 (+8) and followed it up with a 78 (+6) to finish at 158 (+14).
With both teams finishing on top and sweeping the individual titles, the Apaches and Apache Ladies delivered a complete performance in Texarkana.
