BAYTOWN, TX – Lee College defeated Tyler Junior College 75–68 in the semifinals of the Region XIV Men's Basketball Tournament on Friday in Baytown, Texas.
Lee led 32–25 at halftime before both teams scored 43 points in the second half. The Navigators maintained the lead to advance to the championship game.
Chris Uwayo Jr. led Tyler with 19 points and four rebounds. Caden Bell added 15 points, while Sabree Scott and Zander Frazier each finished with 13 points off the bench.
Tyler shot 34.3 percent from the field (23 of 67) and 36.4 percent from 3-point range (8 of 22).
Shamiere Green led Lee with 21 points and nine rebounds. Moh Tounkara added 17 points and 15 rebounds, while Josh Smith finished with 14 points.
Lee shot 44.6 percent from the field (25 of 56) and held a 42–39 rebounding advantage.
The loss ended Tyler's season with a 21–11 overall record and a 14–8 mark in conference play.
