White and Cornelson Recieve NJCAA Football All-American Awards

Apache All-Americans

Congratulations to our Apache football players Darion White, William Cornelson, Jayden Madkins, and Jayden Lawton for receiving recognition from the NJCAA for their hard work and dedication on the football field.

The Apaches were a dominant defensive unit, led by linebackers White and Cornelson.

Darion White earned First-Team All-American honors. White suited up for all 11 games in the Apache season, amassing a total of 124 tackles—56 solo and 68 assisted. He averaged 11.3 tackles per game, including 15 tackles for losses. White also recorded 6.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and three interceptions, one of which was a pick-six. White finished the season ranked 2nd overall in the NJCAA for assisted tackles and total tackles, while also ranking 3rd in tackles per game. His presence on the field was undeniable, and he was a force on the Apache defense.

William Cornelson, White's partner in the backfield, earned Second-Team All-American honors. Like White, Cornelson played all 11 games, concluding the season with 126 tackles—73 assisted and 53 solo—averaging 11.5 tackles per game and 21.5 tackles for loss. Cornelson also had one interception, which he returned for a 57-yard gain. He finished the season as the NJCAA leader in total tackles and assisted tackles, and second in tackles per game. Cornelson also cracked the top ten in sacks, ranking 9th for the season.

Jayden Madkins, a defensive lineman, and Jayden Lawton, a defensive back, were both named to the All-American honorable mention list. Madkins ended the season with 47 tackles—19 solo and 28 assisted—averaging 4.3 tackles per game. Lawton contributed with 19 tackles and one interception. While the stats tell part of the story, both Madkins and Lawton's impact goes beyond the numbers. Their grit, hard work, and dedication on the field cannot always be captured in statistics.

Congratulations to these gentlemen for an outstanding year! Here's to a new year and another exciting season of college football.
