The TJC defense threw a shutout in the second half and the Apaches scored a 23-13 victory over Northeastern Oklahoma A&M on Saturday at Red Robertson Field in Miami, Oklahoma.

The Apaches won their second straight game to improve to 2-2 overall and 2-0 in Southwest Junior College Football Conference play.

The Golden Norsemen drop their third consecutive game to fall to 1-3 overall and 0-2 in conference.

TJC led 14-13 at halftime and outscored NEO 9-0 in the second half.

Nathan Greek got the start at quarterback for the Apaches, tossing two TD passes.

The Apaches return home on Saturday, Oct. 5 as they host New Mexico Military at Christus Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium in Tyler. The game next weekend will be Military Appreciation Day.  Kickoff on Earl Campbell Field is scheduled for 3 p.m.

The Golden Norsemen remain at home, hosting Cisco with a 3 p.m. kickoff on Saturday, Oct. 5.

In other SWJCFC games: Cisco upsets Kilgore, 35-30; and Blinn edged Navarro, 44-43. in a non-conference game on Friday, Trinity Valley defeated Air Force Prep, 48-0.
