Tyler’s Offense Surges in Win Over Wharton County
HUNTSVILLE, Texas (Feb. 16, 2026) — Tyler Junior College collected 20 hits and defeated Wharton County Junior College 16-6 on Monday in Don Sanders Baseball Stadium at Sam Houston State University.
Tyler (8-4) scored in eight of nine innings, including a four-run ninth to close the game. Wharton County (3-9) scored three runs in the second inning but would not cut the deficit any closer the rest of the game.
Landry Stamps went 3 for 5 with four runs scored and a triple. Micah Roberts finished 3 for 4 with a double, a triple, two RBIs and four runs scored. Davis Perkins went 3 for 6 with a home run, a double and three RBIs.
Sawyer Dunagan drove in three runs on two hits, both doubles. Cal Fingleson added two RBIs, and Reid Graham had three hits, including a double, with one RBI. Ben Coke went 2 for 2 with a double and an RBI.
Ryland Mahoney (1-0) earned the win in relief, allowing one run on two hits over 1 2/3 innings. Cade Julius started and allowed four runs on four hits over 3 1/3 innings.
For Wharton County, Braylon Mitchell hit a three-run home run and finished with three RBIs. Jaxon Lanclos had three hits. Jack Kemper doubled and drove in a run, and Sam Lee added two hits and an RBI.
Erich Daigle (0-3) took the loss, allowing six runs on nine hits in 2 1/3 innings.
Tyler committed two errors. Wharton County had one.
