TJC Baseball Receives World Series Rings

The National Junior College Athletic Association was founded in 1938. Entering the 2013-14 academic year, only 3 schools had ever won 50 or more National Championships in their schools history: Indian River (FL), Erie (NY), and Barton (KS). With their victory in the 2014 World Series, the TJC baseball team won the 50th national championship in school history, allowing Tyler to become only the 4th school in NJCAA history to reach that plateau.

This squad finished the year with a 42-17 record. They captured the District C Title with an 11-1 victory over Eastfield College, and won four straight games at Mike Carter Field in the World Series, including a 6-3 win over Cumberland County College in the championship game before an enthusiastic crowd at Mike Carter Field.
