Apaches Blank Texarkana

TEXARKANA - The Tyler Junior College Apaches pushed across runs in the fifth and ninth innings to defeat Texarkana College 2-0 on Monday.
Six Tyler pitchers combined for the shutout with Eythan Lenz picking up the victory and Jacob French pitching the ninth for the save.
The Apaches got on the board in the top of fifth inning when Tyler Ernest singled up the middle and scored on a Texarkana error after Jermey Christian singled to left.
Tyler added an insurance run in the ninth, as Hunter Sutton singled and advanced to second on an error by Bulldog Josh Oller.
Taylor Drolette singled to left to score Sutton for the final run of the game.
Tyler returns to action on Friday, traveling to Star City, Ark., to meet North Arkansas College. The game has a 6 p.m. star. A doubleheader is scheduled for Saturday, begining at noon.
