TJC Baseball Splits Pair With Richland

Trevor Clifton and Nico Mo-ran each had two RBIs to lead Tyler Junior College to a 6-2 win over Richland College and a split of their doubleheader on Monday at Mike Carter Field.

The Thunderducks won the first game, 5-1.

Clifton, Conner Lewis and Estevan Hernandez (double) each had two hits for the Apaches (23-13) as the squad snapped an eight-game losing skid.

Jacob Soisson added a hit and RBI for the Apaches. Adding hits for TJC were Taylor Drolette (double), Jon McManemin and Jeremy Christian.

In the first game, Drolette led the Apaches with two hits. Tyler Ernest, McManemin (double) and Lewis added hits.

The Apaches return to play on Wednesday, playing host to Texas College at Mike Carter Field. The game has a 7 p.m. start.
