Former TJC Apache and current Texas A&M – Corpus Christi Islander Eric Weiss capped off the final home series of his Islanders career in big-time fashion, and he was recognized for his efforts on Monday as he was named the Southland Conference Hitter of the Week following the Islanders series win over Lamar.

The Tyler Junior College Apaches rode the arm of Jacob French's near no-hitter to advance to the District C Tournament next week in McKinney.

Tyler scored five runs in the top of the seventh inning en route to defeating Cedar Valley 5-0 and thus clinching the best-of-three Metro Athletic Conference Play-In series on Saturday at Mike Carter Field. The Apaches won the series 2-0 as they took Game 1, 5-4, in 12 innings Friday night.

Due to weather conditions in Arkansas, the three game seeding series between the #3 Apaches and #2 North Arkansas has been moved to Mike Carter Field.  Game one will be Saturday night at 7:30pm, while the teams will square off Sunday at 11am in a doubleheader.  The winner of the series will host the fourth place Metro Athletic Conference team in a play-in series next weekend, while the loser will host the third place MAC team the same weekend.

Due to the weather, the Arkansas weekend series has been moved to a Saturday/Sunday series.  Saturday will feature two games at 4pm and 6:30pm, while Sunday will be a single 9 inning game at 12 noon.

Tyler Junior College split an afternoon doubleheader as against Panola College at Mike Carter Field on Saturday.

Panola was able to take the first game behind the pitching of starter Gavin Williamson, winning 5-1.

The Apaches offense was able to secure the victory in the second game, combining for nine runs on thirteen hits in a 9-8 victory.
