The Tyler Junior College Apaches finished ninth in the NJCAA DII National Golf Tournament after Friday's final round at Goose Pond Colony Golf Course. The Apaches' Tyler Terry and Conlan Laporte earned All-America honors.
Terry finished strong by taking ninth place individually. The sophomore from Hurst had a 72-hole score of even par 288 (73-72-70-73). By placing in the top 10, Terry earned first-team All-America honors. He also earned All-Tournament honors.
The Tyler Junior Colege Apaches moved from 10th place to sixth after Thursday's third round of the NJCAA Division II National Golf Tournament at Goose Pond Colony Golf Course.
The fourth and final round is Friday.
The Tyler Junior College men's golf team improved its score by nine strokes but remained in 10th place on Wednesday at the NJCAA DII National Golf Tournament at Goose Pond Colony Golf Course.
The Apaches fired a 291 for a two-day total of 593 to sit at 17-over. The tournament continues through Friday.
ALEDO — Led by all-state golfers Tyler Terry and Cameron Lindell, the Tyler Junior College Apaches finished second in the Texas State Championships on Tuesday at Split Rail Links and Golf Course.
The Apaches had a three-round total of 902 (305-298-299) to finish six strokes behind winner Odessa College (302-299-295—896). The first and second rounds were Monday.
The Tyler Junior College men's golf team shot a 603 after 36 holes of the Texas State Championships. They are two shots behind leader Odessa and one shot behind Western Texas. The final round is today. Kyle Booza and Ross Arrington each shot 76 in the opening round, while Tyler Terry shot a 71 to lead the team in the second 18.
The TJC women's golf team tied for 1st place and the men's team finished as runner-up in the Hal Sutton Intercollegiate Tournament hosted by Centenary College of Louisiana. Katharine Bunting shot a two day total of 161 to finish third individually, while Cameron Lindell's 149 was good enough for a tie for third on the men's side.
