The signing season is in full force this spring as six more Tyler Junior College athletes inked with four-year colleges on Tuesday.

Committing for the next two years were four soccer players — Alice Coyne (Lindsey Wilson College), Carina Dunnahoo (Midwestern State University), Stacie Murray (University of Massachusetts) and Jahmela Williams (Clayton State University), and two basketball players — Carolina Lopez (Oral Roberts University) and Adrienne Phillips (Bethune-Cookman University).

The group put their signatures on the dotted line during a ceremony in the foyer of Wagstaff Gymnasium before teammates, friends, coaches and supporters.

University of West Florida junior striker Chelsea Palmer is named 2012 NSCAA DII Player of the Year after leading the NCAA DII is assists (19) this season. Palmer scored the game-winning goal in the NCAA DII National Championship to lead the UWF women's soccer program to their first NCAA DII title. Palmer led UWF in 2012 in goals scored (16) and in assists.

Fri, Nov. 30, 2012 - [Men's & Women's Soccer]

The TJC men's and women's soccer programs, coming off a national championship and third place finish respectively, had five players named NJCAA First Team All Americans, the National Office announced today.  Wayne Halland Christopher McGaughey were honored from the men's team, while Stacie Murray, Kat VanMeter, and Jahmela Williams received the honor from the women's team.  Click on the links below for complete lists from the NJCAA.

Fri, Nov. 16, 2012 - [Women's Soccer]

A goal in the 90th minute by top seeded Brevard Community College gave the Titans a 3-2 win over fifth seeded Tyler in the NJCAA Division 1 National Championship Semifinals.  Brevard advances to tomorrow's national championship game, where they will face the winner of Iowa Western and Paradise Valley.  

Wed, Nov. 14, 2012 - [Men's & Women's Soccer]

The TJC men's and women's soccer teams won their matches today in pool play to each win their respective pools.  They both finished undefeated in pool play and move on to Friday's semifinal round.  The 5th seeded TJC women defeated 4th seeded Butler 2-1 in a hard fought game , while two goals late in the first half propelled to 4th seeded men to a 3-0 win over 5th seeded Jefferson College.  The women play Brevard at 9am Friday, while the men play Darton at 4pm.
