The Tyler Junior College basketball teams took two very different routes on Saturday, but the destination was the same.

The Apache Ladies, behind seven players in double figures, scored an easy 105-62 win over Jacksonville College in the first game, while the Apaches used tough, second-half defense and rebounding to register a 65-60 win over the Jaguars.

The No. 10 Tyler Junior College Apache Ladies returned the favor to Odessa - and then some - Thursday night in their home basketball opener.

Sophomore Ericka House scored 24 points and drilled four 3-pointers, and TJC limited the Lady Wranglers to 2-of-16 from beyond the arc for an 82-63 triumph in the 2011 Sleep Inn & Suites Classic at Wagstaff Gymnasium.

The Apache Ladies, with eight sophomores and a No. 10 national ranking, will play this weekend at the Odessa Classic.

The Apache Ladies are picked to finish right behind top-ranked Trinity Valley in the Region XIV Conference. It's easy to see why, with a sophomore-laden team coming off a 23-win season.
