Education: B.A. (University of Southern Mississippi), M.Ed. (Southeastern Oklahoma State University)
Coaching Experience: 34 total years of experience (17 years as a Head High School Football Coach and 17 years as a collegiate Assistant Coach). Eight years were at the University of Houston as an Assistant and Recruiting Coordinator, named the "Youngest 5A Head Coach" at Texas High at the age of 26 in 1975. Served as an Assistant Coach as an Offensive Coordinator and Defensive Coordinator. Recruited Joffrey Reynolds from Tyler Lee as well as Drew Lowry, Rex Hadnot, and Leonta Rheams to the University of Houston.
Playing Experience: Played quarterback for 3 years for Johnny Stidger at Tyler John Tyler. Lettered all 3 years in 3 sports at John Tyler. Named to the All-State Baseball Team in 1967 and was coached by the late Dr. Billy Jack Doggett. Started 2 years at quarterback for the University of Southern Mississippi.
Awards: 1997 Nominee for the Frank Broyles College Assistant Football Coach of the Year by the University of Houston. In 1977, was named as Coach of the Year by the Waco-Tribune Herald whie at Waco Richfield.
Personal: Wife, Sharon, teaches at Bonner Elementary in Tyler. Has two daughters, Stacey and Bethany, and one grandson, Myles.
