NATCHITOCHES -- The Tyler Junior College women's tennis team capture three wins against Northwestern State Sunday in a duo match.

The Apache Ladies captured wins at No. 1 and No. 6 singles as well as No. 2 doubles.

"I thought we played pretty good," TJC coach John Peterson said. "Northwestern State is one of the upper echelon teams in the Southland Conference."

In doubles, TJC's Sun Wen and Tonia Kolovou won over Northwestern State's Kathrin Lange and Bianca Schulz, 9-8.

Peterson said the win at No. 2 doubles was over a first-team All-Southland Conference team from last year.

Masha Slupska won at No. 1 singles for TJC, while Kolovou took the No. 6 singles win.

The Apache Ladies return to play Thursday at Temple College. The men's squad is also scheduled to play that day.
