The Apaches, along with the Apache Ladies, on Tuesday captured the championship of the TJC Fall Invitational on the Oak Hurst Golf Course.

TJC Black, behind all-tournament members Stefan Labuschagne, James Glenn and Nate Anderson, carded a 567 (281-286) to win by 20 strokes over runner-up Lon Morris Green (289-298 -- 587). Texarkana was third at 594 (294-300).

In their first tourney of the season on Sept. 14-15, TJC won the UT Tyler Invitational at The Cascades Golf Club.

On Tuesday in the women's division, the Apache Ladies, led by medalist Jacki Marshall, recorded a 665 (331-334) to win by 22 strokes over runner-up Texarkana (343-344 -- 687).

"Both teams did a great job today," said TJC coach Sandy Terry, who noted club pro Darrell Chase and his staff did a great job shaping up the course after a wet October. "It was pretty much a team effort."

Paris' Kevin Giesbrecht won medalist honors with a 140 (72-68), while Labuschagne was runner-up at 141 (69-27). Glenn (72-70 -- 142) tied for third with Lon Morris' Michael Hane (71-71 -- 142).

Other members of the winning TJC team were Anderson (69-74 -- 143), Chris George (71-73 -- 144) and Sebastian Starud (76-71 -- 147).

Joining Hane on the runner-up Lon Morris squad were Chase Webb, Jason Hamilton, John Neis and Jace Lewis.

TJC Gold placed fifth. Team members were Jared Johnson, Jordan Sarran, Cody Adolph, Vincent Anagnos and Ari Bollinger.

In the women's medalist race, Marshall ran away with the title with a 151 (76-75). Texarkana's Lyndie Smith was runner-up at 166 (84-82), while TJC's Courtney Hodgkins placed third at 167 (82-85).

Other members of Tyler's winning team were Alexi Byerly, Whitney Flewellen, Adela Elizondo and Jessica Sorbel.

The golf teams will continue practicing before beginning their spring season in 2010.
