BOSSIER CITY, La. -- The Tyler Junior College Apaches maintained a tie for first in the North Zone by defeating Bossier Parish, 96-73, Wednesday night. The Apaches (22-5) and Paris, a 65-40 winner over Navarro, share the North Zone lead at 13-5 with one game remaining. 
 Navarro, which split with both Paris and Tyler, is 12-6 in the North. The Apaches jumped out to a 13-3 lead over Bossier (12-17, 2-16), which dressed out only eight players, and had a 21-point cushion at halftime. "We passed the ball very well," said TJC head coach Mike Marquis. "We ran the floor extremely well and were very good on the boards." TJC's double-figure scorers were Brent Barz (17), Brad Gay (16), Byron Maxson (12), Denzel Jackson (11) and Tyler Jefferson (10). The Apaches will complete the regular season Saturday with a home game against Angelina of the South Zone. The tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m.
