The TJC Apaches had 7 players mentioned on the ALL MAC team released today. The Apaches had 2 first team selections in sophomore pitchers, Michael LaCourse (8-4, 1 save, 3.29 era, 65.2 ip, 53 K, .218 BAA, 17 app ) and Matt Kinard (5-0, 3.65 era, 66.1 ip, 43 K, 24 BB, 12 app).

The Apaches travel to McKinney, Texas this weekend to defend their NJCAA District C title and an opportunity to come back to Tyler for the 2008 NJCAA Div III World Series. The opening round is against MAC foe, #7 Eastfield College. The other two teams in the NJCAA District C tourney are #1 North Arkansas and #6 Richland College. Groth "...this will be the most hotly contested NJCAA District tourney anywhere in the nation this weekend as we have 4 of the top 7 teams in the country fighting for 1 spot in the World Series...it will be an absolute dogfight this weekend to get out of McKinney, but we're looking forward to the challenge..."
