In a matchup of the NJCAA Division 1 #4 team and the NJCAA Division III #4 team, Tyler defeated Navarro 9-7. The TJC Apaches finished off a remarkable turnaround regular season at 30-19 with a quality win against a top five, Div I opponent. The Apaches got out to an early lead on sophomore day and the sophomore pitchers held down a very potent lineup for much of the nine inning game.
With an Eastfield loss in their last MAC game against Cedar Valley, Tyler secured their second straight MAC Championship and a #1 seed in next weeks NJCAA District C tournament in McKinney, Texas. ( Link to Playoff Bracket: http://www.geocities.com/metro_baseball/2008bracket.htm )

"...this was sophomore day and it could not have gone any better...all of our sophomores got to play, and they played well and defeated a quality Div I team...."
"...we scripted the pitching today and all of our guys threw pretty well...they are too good to keep down for an entire game, but we scored some runs early and our pitchers kept putting zeros on the board ...
