JACKSONVILLE - If not for one "WD," Lon Morris College would have posted a pair of W's at its own invitational golf tournament Tuesday at The Woods course.

The Lon Morris women were headed for victory before a withdrawal left the Lady Bearcats with only three players - one short of posting a team score.

The win went instead to Western Texas, which edged the Apache Ladies, 1088-1091.
In the women's division, Lon Morris was led by the Villarroels - Aymara (239) and Marina (249).

Amelie Bernsdorf finished with a 78 to lead the Apache Ladies at 256. Elizabeth Rosebury, a freshman from Bullard, was next at 258.
