Sophomore center April Murphy had 22 points, nine rebounds and two steals to lead the Tyler Junior College Apache Ladies over Shorter College (Ark.), 90-47, Thursday night at Wagstaff Gymnasium.

Kilgore downed Hill 66-47, and Lon Morris beat Collin County 72-52 in the first two games of the Ramada Classic.
The Apache Ladies (5-1) forced 32 turnovers and scored on several high-percentage shots and putbacks to finish at 51.3 percent (40 of 78) from the field.
Shorter (1-4) struggled to hit from the outside and finished at 24.2 percent (15 of 62) from the floor.
Tied 8-8, the Apache Ladies took the lead for good on a Murphy bucket off a pass from Brittany Roberson.
TJC went on a 9-0 run to take its first double-figure lead. Brittany Toran aided the run with a steal and two assists to help make the score 23-11.
Three Apache Ladies joined Murphy in double figures. Sophomore Chasity Shavers had 12 points and four rebounds. Sophomore Yoshica Spears and freshman Sonja Thompson each contributed 11 points.
Freshman Jasmine King paced TJC on the boards with 10, while Thompson chipped in with seven rebounds.
