Eight junior college baseball teams from across the nation are converging on Tyler for the NJCAA Division III World Series.
Historic Mike Carter Field is hosting the baseball tournament, which begins Saturday and continues through the championship on Thursday.
Host school Tyler Junior College is the No. 1-ranked team in the country.
Other teams entered are Herkimer County (N.Y.), Joliet (Ill.), Montgomery (Md.), Ridge-water (Minn.), Suffolk-Grant (N.Y.), Brookdale (N.J.) and Massasoit (Mass.).
Tournament passes are $25 (adults only). Session passes are $5 (adults), $3 (students with ID), and $2 (children ages 9-14). Children 8 & under as well as Little League players in uni-form are admitted free.
A free Kids Clinic is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Friday at Mike Carter Field. Players and coaches from each team will instruct the youngsters.
