TJC had its own version of the "No Fly Zone" Saturday night.
The Apaches picked off five passes, including two by Brandon Johnson, en route to a 61-33 win over Cisco College before 4,000 fans at Christus Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium.
With the lights of the East Texas Fair shining in the background, No. 4 Tyler Junior College improved to 4-0 on the season and 2-0 in Southwest Junior College Football Conference play. The Wranglers, who are coached by former TJC defensive coordinator Russell Thompson, dropped to 2-3 and 1-3.
Johnson, whose interception last week secured the Apaches' win at Northeastern Oklahoma, retuned one of his picks 81 yards for a touchdown. Others will interceptions were Ben Sutton, Diarva Brown and Daquaylyn Thomas.
Tyler Dunlop, the Apaches' strong-legged kicker, had two field goals for the second straight week.
Fuller gained 122 yards on 14 carries with Wooten hitting on 15 of 26 passing attempts for 173 yards. Wooten also had six carries for 58 yards.
For Cisco, Duntayviun Gross, the former JT star, gathered in 11 catches for 102 yards and two touchdowns.
TJC returns to action on Saturday, traveling to Brenham to meet Blinn in a 7 p.m. game.
