The TJC Apache softball team swept Trinity Valley in conference play Wednesday, earning 10-1 and 8-0 victories.
In game 1, Tyler jumped out to an early lead over Trinity Valley and took home a 10-1 victory. TJC scored on a triple, a double by Shelbi Court, a single by Kaycie Moore, and a double by Makenzie Chatham in the first inning.
Kelly Mardones earned the win for Tyler Junior College Apaches. She tossed four innings, surrendering one run, five hits, striking out four, and walking one.
Home runs for Tyler came when Makenzie Goswick homered in the second inning and Weber homered in the fourth inning.
Weber went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Tyler in hits.
Mele Pasikala led Trinity Valley with two hits in two at bats. Trinity Valley didn't commit a single error in the field. Ryan Kaniho had the most chances in the field with four.
In game 2, Julia Knight didn't allow a single run as Tyler defeated Trinity Valley 8-0. Knight allowed just four hits.
Tyler took an early lead in the first inning. Shelbi Court drove in one when she doubled in the first inning.
Knight earned the win for Tyler. She threw six innings, surrendering zero runs, four hits, striking out eight, and walking none.
Tyler had 12 hits in the game. Moore, Court, Makenzie Goswick, and Shelby Hotchkiss each collected multiple hits for the Apaches. Moore led Tyler with three runs batted in. She went 3-for-4 on the day.
Klaus led Trinity Valley with two hits in three at bats.
