Krtickova's second Super Bowl was less dramatic than her first as her and partner Aleksandra Filipovski teamed up to for a 6-0, 6-1 win over Tyler Junior College's Fausthy Pietersz and Nelo Phiri. "We are really excited" said Filipovski, she continues "we are playing really well now and I hope we can continue playing like this."
"I went there [USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships] two years ago and it was a great experience so I am very excited to go there again" stated Krtickova. "Hopefully we can go there and show them how we play in Division II."
On the men's side, Tyler Junior College's Adrien Berkowicz brought home the men's Super Bowl singles championship. Berkowicz, the JUCO singles winner, took on Division II winner Georgi Rumenov of Armstrong Atlantic in the Super Bowl final. In the first set, Berkowicz found himself in an early hole as Rumenov jumped out to a 3-1 lead.
Unwilling to give up the first set, Berkowicz utilized his big first serve as well as a solid return game to win five of the final six games, taking the first set at 6-4. "I tried to fight every point because every single point is very important" said Berkowicz. "He could have won the first set and I think [Rumenov not winning the set] changed the whole match.
Carrying his momentum in the second set, Berkowicz opened the set with two breaks of serve to go ahead 4-0. It would be all he needed as he went on to win the match, and Super Bowl title, 6-4, 6-2. "It feels great" said Berkowicz. "I didn't know what to expect coming here but it was fun the whole week."
