The Apache Ladies (11-6) lost the first game, 24-30, then won the next three, 30-22, 30-26, 30-26.
TJC trailed 22-12 in the fourth game before going on an 18-4 run.
Naomi Mays led the Apache Ladies with eight kills, two solo blocks, five aces and 13 digs. Haley Hatch recorded 31 assists.
"Our No. 1 outside hitter had strep throat and was left back at school," said TJC head coach Dana Hatch. "This forced other players to step up."
Coach Hatch said Carol Horn from John Tyler and Shawana Watkins of Terrell played well.
"We played real solid the second and third game - the fourth game we started out awful, and then all of a sudden we start playing and come back," Hatch said.
TJC plays in the Galveston Tournament on Friday.
