Sophomore forward Malcolm Moore, who led Tyler Junior College in scoring for back-to-back seasons, is once again representing the Apaches on the All-Region XIV Men's Basketball Team.

Moore, from Iowa City, Iowa, was voted first-team all-region by the league's coaches along with MVP Marsell Holden of San Jacinto, Dylan Talley of Blinn, Greg Allen of Navarro and D.D. Scarver of Trinity Valley.

The 6-7, 245-pound Moore averaged 15.9 points and 7.5 rebounds per game as a sophomore. He scored double figures for 14 conference games in a row to end the regular season, including a personal high of 25 points against Lee College.

San Jacinto was led by Holden, the MVP from Farrell, Pa., who dominated Region XIV in both 3-pointers made (98) and attempted (263). He averaged 19.9 points per game and led the league with an 89.2 free-throw percentage.

Jody Bailey of Jacksonville College and Scott Gernander of San Jacinto shared Coach of the Year honors. Bailey took over a program that was picked to finish last in the South Zone and instead guided the Jaguars to a runner-up finish at 14-5.

Gernander's squad had the best overall conference record (16-3) and won the South Zone.

TJC sophomores Mitch Marquis and Kader Tapsoba received honorable mention on the all-conference team.

Marquis, from Whitehouse, led the league in both assists (8.4 per game) and 3-point percentage (44) after making 37 of 84 attempts. Marquis was also one of the top free throw shooters at 78 percent.

Tapsoba, a 6-10 center from Africa, led Region XIV with 3.7 blocks per game and averaged 8.2 rebounds.
